There are some very reasonable rates right now at some quite nice hotels that fit your description:

The McCormick Scottsdale

The Scottsdale Resort at McCormick Ranch

Both of these are on the border of Scottsdale and PV, and they are a quick drive down the 101 to Chandler/Gilbert.
