"Roll out"? Blended lanes, Pre-Check Light and any number of other permutations of this have existed widely for 5+ years!

Even at tiny airports with a single line, if you have Pre-Check, you are handed a card which flags both you and your bag. The newest addition (about 18 months) is that the bag goes through with an identifier (often a brick) and thus no 3-1-1 or laptop silliness.

The only thing you lose with this process is that the line doesn't move faster because you are stuck with the common folk.
