Sadly, we have now accepted the reality of the situation and moved our November trip to CPT out to the beginning of February 2021. Reasonably easy to do, go through to BA on the 3rd attempt, slight increase in holiday price (£63).
With the situation in the UK escalating, even if the SA borders did open we didn't want to face the possibility of quarantine on arrival in SA. We only have 2 weeks there, so we don't want to risk travelling 6,000 miles to spend the whole time locked in an apartment. Also, who knows? there COULD have a vaccine by Christmas and, subject to receiving one, be able to travel with the comfort of a little more protection. Added bonus - BA could be closer to normal in the catering front by then. No fun on a 12 hour flight with just a couple of sandwiches!
