Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?

Yes


Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?

Booked 2 queen, received 2 queen suite, a slightly longer room with a sitting area with pull-out sofa in between the bathroom and beds.


What measures are in place due to COVID19?

Masks required in public areas. Shields at front desk. Max 2 on elevator. Bag your own breakfast with a nice assortment of sealed options (granola bars, muffins, yogurt etc.). Pool closed. Fitness centre closed. Business centre closed. Housekeeping by special request, very limited.


General occupancy rate during your stay in the COVID19 shutdowns?

Large variation. One night, almost sold out, following nights, 25%. Stayed in August 2020.


How are the rooms?

Typical HIX with 80% normal-sized rooms and 20% suites that are slightly larger with a sofa area. Large HDTV, fridge, microwave.


How is the exec. lounge?

N/A


What was good and what was bad?

+ Pleasant staff (Tammy at front desk is a star)

+ Decent room upgrade

+ Good location right off HWY 11, charming downtown Huntsville 5 minutes away

+ Quiet hotel, though many restaurants and stores in the outdoor lot across the street, DQ next door, Kelseys directly across the street

- Practically all services/amenities closed


Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?

Paid 12.5K points (vs usual 35K) in the peak of the summer. A wonderful value. At least some small silver lining due to COVID.
