Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?

Yes


Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?

Booked king, received king suite, which is double the size of a standard king.


What measures are in place due to COVID19?

Masks required in public areas. Shields at front desk. Max 2 on elevator. Restaurant closed. Fitness centre closed. Business centre computers removed. No breakfast to go or any food at hotel. Housekeeping on a reduced schedule.


General occupancy rate during your stay in the COVID19 shutdowns?

Varied from 20 - 50%. Stayed in July 2020.


How are the rooms?

Interesting layout given it’s an older hotel. Each room is unique. Have had the tight, 209’ sq. Two Queen rooms with a nice table area with 3-sided windows. More recently, the large king suite that is 443’ sq. Massive HDTV, mini fridge, microwave


How is the exec. lounge?

N/A


What was good and what was bad?

+ Pleasant staff (Gregg at front desk is a star)

+ Always remember me here and preferences

+ Great room upgrade

+ Quiet, business side of Ottawa

+ Quirky rooms in a historic hotel, not cookie cutter

- No food in hotel

- Could use a larger mini-fridge, half the size of those seen at other IHG properties

- Practically all services/amenities shut down

- $25/night parking cost steep, especially during the pandemic


Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?

Paid 12.5K points (vs usual 20K) in the peak of the summer. An excellent value.
