I have used it many times with no issues. I'm not particularly worried about safety from criminal activity. But you should be aware of what goes on at the weekends. The section of car park not used for the market is essentially the market visitors car park, and there are an awful lot of movements, so bumps and door hits might concern you. I always try to park in a corner to minimize this risk.
