It's the first statement date after your anniversary ( mine is 1/2/20xx) so my January 12,2021 flights should fall under this year as my statement closes around the 21st of each month.
If that's the case I will keep the card for the 9k miles, 4 more upgrades, wifi and IF Chase makes sole proprietor business cards easy to get again I can refer my wife in late 2021
