Whatever he is like as an individual he has carried out his CEO role with dignity and professionalism. Some long, long overdue changes to working practices clearly needed to be made to be properly competitive for the future world and he has achieved this. Some good, loyal people have left the company but at the end of the day if this had not happened, BA's future existence would have been at risk.
At the end of the day it is down to very simple numbers. For any business to survive t's income has to exceed it's cost and WW has had the balls to implement something that very few others could have done. In reality he has probably been the visionary who has saved BA.
