Embassies are usually very good in explaining entry rules, I almost always got an answer when I reached out to them.
I would sound a note of caution here. Embassies may be responsive, but in my experience they don't always have the most accurate information. They may also typically give a more conservative interpretation of what is likely to happen than what the actual situation on the ground is. Just my two cents.
