Honestly I would downgrade to be with him
Done 9 BA CE flights over past few weeks with 6 in CE and 3 in ET
I wont be booking or paying for CE again - total waste of money.
You have lounge access and so can get him in - then the only benefit on the plane is cheap, warm alcohol
