PSP is on my list at the almost perfect weekend getaway....the one problem being that it's tough to get a very good deal on any Sunday flight that doesn't leave at the crack of dawn (thus cutting the weekend getaway in-half).
right now there are some super prices on the PDX nonstop as low as $69 for basic economy and two a day in October. I booked several, But you are correct, flying home Sunday night is always the most expensive.
