Because €42 and €50 are not the prices of the individual flights to be added together to make the total.

These figures are only estimates, and the fact that you're flying to LCY and flying from LHR makes the original estimates unreliable. AIUI, this is something to do with the way that that the pricing engine attempts to attribute the TFC to each flight in the trip when making the original estimate. I suspect that this is something to do with the much higher PSC charged by LCY when you're departing.

If you select a "€42" BER-LCY and a "€72" LCY-BER, you will get a total of €113.80 because the attribution of TFC doesn't go wrong.

Similarly, if you select a "€33" BER-LHR and a "€50" LHR-BER, you will get a total of €81.50.
