I have a trip to Dubai planned for later this month and despite being an Ambassador member with Marriott, I've been so fed up with their garbage IT, suspension of brand standards, total lack of communication, incomprehensible inability to be transparent about which on-property services are or aren't offered, and after visiting their What to Expect site for the Grosvenor House which said lounges were open, only for me to find out that their executive lounge is closed due to COVID with no alternatives offered to guests after a phone call, I threw my hands up. I moved all my stays since May to Hyatt, and I haven't regretted it one bit.

That aside, Hyatt's current open options in Dubai are the Park and Grand Hyatts, all Hyatt Places and the Andaz; Hyatt Regency Dubai Creek Heights is reopening September 22nd, and Hyatt Regency Dubai reopens September 30th. I called the Andaz to see, given that Dubai has allowed restaurants and bars to reopen under certain guidelines, if they were offering wine hour and such, and the phone agent said they are not due to COVID. Online reviews I've seen indicate that breakfast is done using single-use paper menus, and despite mentions of service being a little all over the place from wonderfully hospitable to allegedly racist, I booked a two-night stay under Privé for about 108 USD per night.

Looking forward to trying it out, and will report back.
