What a wierd experience that was. Firstly, Narita T1 North was ghost town with only 2 flights departing on that day. Was offered an upgrade to J for around 900€, didn't take it.

Boarding was pretty normal except for the mandatory masks of course. We were told not to move from our seats for plane weight distribution issues, didn't think 30 passengers on a 777 could cause problems.

First meal was served on the tiniest tray ever and was made of one hot dish (pasta), potato salad and fruit all in plastic and we were served drinks with it (wine and beer were available).

Then window shades were lowered, lights dimmed and the crew disappeared until about 3h in when they went around giving plastic bags to people?? These bags contained 2 kitkat bars, a 2 slices of bread/cake, crackers, some cheese, a can of coke, little biscuits and a banana. This was just bizarre but oh well at least they were generous with the quantities, my blood sugar levels definitely skyrocketed as I was lethargic for the rest of the flight. We were also given soggy sandwiches wrapped in plastic...

Kudos for that 1 flight attendant that decided to walk around the cabin twice during the flight, thats more than any of her colleagues can claim.

1h before landing we were given some kind of eggy bread pastry. It was warm which was appreciated but it was so small...

So I don't know, I didn't know what to expect and ended up being fine during the flight. I just wished the meals were a bit more balanced and that the 2nd "hot meal" wasn't so small. Can't wait for things to go back to normal.
