Interesting about the merge. and I agree ALL is not a very good program.
Even their Diamond tier benefit is very weak.
Would be good if the merged entity can use the IHG loyalty program, but looking back from SPG - Marriott merger, usually the result is bonvoyed program instead.

It depends what you expect from a program. I expect (and get) free breakfast at pretty much all properties with a high-enough status level at Marriott (and SPG pre-merger), Hilton, and Hyatt. But with IHG, there's no status level that gives free breakfast on paper. Yes, there may be "quiet" policies which are unwritten at one brand or another, but at those other programs they're spelled out in the T&Cs.
I know hardly anything about Accor, but I don't quite understand how Accor can be so below IHG if IHG is the only main hotel program in the USA that doesn't give free breakfast to any elite level (and full service, mid-scale with pair restaurant, etc, properties).
Yes, I know, not everyone cares about breakfast, but
for those who do, why is Accor even so much worse than IHG?
