How they are going to allow this type of booking on the main AC site when the new Aeroplan goes live remains to be seen. I have a bad feeling about the availability of partner award space after the transition.
AC's website is capable today (and has always been capable) of displaying flights operated by other airlines with their native flight numbers. All that will change are the searching rules and filtering parameters that are applied.
