Honestly, I dont think the Ambassador tier provide comparable benefit compare to the tier requirements.
With these layoffs, I guess the tier is become more useless now.
This. Even at the best of times the benefits of the ambassador membership tier aren’t comensurate with the investment required in reaching it. Yet for Marriott the ambassador program was probably the costliest and most meaningful elite benefit of the entire loyalty scheme.

There has always been a sort of dissociation between the cost of the program for Marriott and the degree of satisfaction its recipients were deriving from it.

I agree that most of us who stay 100+ nights and spend upwards of $20k with Marriott would be better served with other, more tangible benefits.

My ambassador has come in extremely handy on 2 or 3 occasions where Marriott really botched things, but those issues could perfectly have been handled by a functional and properly managed dedicated platinum (or elite) customer care line.

Apart from those really exceptional situations where an ambassador can really make a
difference as a liaison with Marriott or a property, there really is no added value from having one. I know my ambassador calls properties ahead of my arrivals, but he is absolutely toothless in getting anything from them and there is practically nothing else I would need from him that I can’t take care of myself, faster and more efficiently.

So I agree that the top tier in the membership program should be completely revamped.
