I feel like that is unnecessarily judgemental. Presumably most people who have status would like to still be able to enjoy it once things get back to normal. When I planned my upcoming trip, I definitely took my status renewal requirements into account. Maybe your priorities are different, and that's okay. And it is fine to say that you personally wouldn't make the same decisions. But it seems rather rude to say that they have the wrong life priorities.
