Hi Starrofuss and welcome to FlyerTalk,

If your connection is the shortest connection possible, you would be eligible for the hotel service.
If you need a visa to enter Turkey, you need to obtain an e-visa or visa-on-arrival, when you arrive at IST clear passport control, exit the baggage claim hall, turn right after leaving and then proceed to the hotel desk.
