They've already played their hand and won by leaking their capital raising in June which would force the Govt's hand who will be required to invest potentially ~$500m interest free to maintain their stake. Obviously with an election coming up this became a political issue so word on the street was they were told to defer this until after the election.
They’ll definitely be using the first tranche of the loan. They’ve stated they’ll be using it within the next few weeks. If it becomes nationalized I just hope NZ First have nothing to do with it.
