Thumbs down Do you use the in-room coffee service?

I have been guilty in the past of placing a filter thingy and pouring water into the coffee maker while half asleep and then drinking the result. Last year, in europe, it was midday when I checked in and I was going to brew a pot to stay awake for the remainder of the day. For the first time, I looked into the water reservoir and almost vomited with disgust. Since then, I have been unable to use the in-room coffee maker due to the amount of sludge in the coffee maker water reservoir in every hotel room I've stayed in (about 20 or so). I've tried running water through before brewing and it doesn't clean the device sufficiently. Any answers? Anyone else care about crud in their coffee? Anyone been made sick?
