I bring a printout of the instructions from the thread wiki at the top of the thread (or use << on mobile to go to the first page) for just this reason

although this doesn't always help -- in two recent instances (a) the person claimed not to have high enough access for GiveX but said if I left the info they'd have (someone) take care of it when they got in -- I was slightly skeptical but a few hours later did get a new email showing my folio had been changed to settle to the GC instead of my CC, and (b) the FDA at checkin seemed uncertain and suggested I ask again at checkout (sigh) ok fine.
You do wonder why they can't make it simpler...
