I’m not mad others benefited from this sale, but from my perspective it is incredibly annoying AS allows tickets to be sold which obviously circumvent the T&C, but then refuses to budge on minor issues (like switching to an earlier flight due to a schedule change).
I feel like AS needs the competitor equivalent of a Diamond/1K desk, staffed with experienced agents who can apply discretion when appropriate. The past several times I’ve called, I’ve gotten someone who was nice, but didn’t really seem to understand the rules, and was even less interested in bending them (even a little, despite the situation clearly calling for it).
I would still try calling maybe a few more times....I'm thinking this lack of flexibility policy for this particular promo might be something they decided to implement recently.
