If you go airside from T2 to T1, you can exit C and then reclear B, but if you're going back to the C gates in T1 or the D gates in T2, you have to reclear at checkpoint D in T2 for either.
Which would be pointless since, as you note, the AC is not open except for AA customer service requests.
Interestingly, the DL SkyClub in C is open.
