The captain and first officer both stopped by and gave me hand written notes congratulating me on the milestone. Finally the purser, cobbled together a "gift-basket" with various snacks, and lysol wipes as a sign of the times. Net / net, the crew that day was awesome given all that was going on. Hope you enjoy the trip!

She told me it was the responsibility of the station supervisory team to bring it to the crew's attention. She was most upset and said she was going to report it (add that to the list of things people were going to report that United didn't do). For me, this was a pretty big emotional let down (although she did tell the pilot, who came back and thanked me). I never got to "celebrate" 2 MM as I passed it administratively when the Continental miles were added to the United program. Given that I'm now lifetime 1K and I'll never get to 4MM, I'm feeling like the golden handcuffs are loosening and I might just start flying on the most convenient airline (especially if Delta keeps leaving open space in back).
Congrats to you both! We are all impressed! While it would be nice, almost no one says they fly UA for the recognition....
