I've been having an issue recently where the offer to upgrade to F is $59 while viewing my reservation. Yet the fare difference is only $49, so I'll go to change flights and upgrade that way (looking to use up AmEx fee credit). But when I make the change, it keeps me in economy. I've done this twice now where I've had to contact Delta to actually get me into F after paying the additional charge.
