If you are talking day 1 when tye booking window opens, yes, no saver awards. Historically, if they are going to release any saver or web specials, they usually load around day 2 or 3 of the booking window opening.
But not all markets will release saver or web specials that far out.

Booking far in advance usually means that a customer has a fixed schedule and may be price insensitive. If so, why sell for less what one can sell for more?
Closer in, the prices may drop (or not).
I think you are missing the point. It’s only for the very first day of the booking window and then that day goes back to “normal” the next day. This isn’t some revenue strategy by AA. I’m guessing it has something to do with how fare classes get loaded, but that is just a guess.
