Steaks in DC: A topic I know well.

[*] Capitol Grill is good but the definative DC steakhouse is
The Palm. A great porterhouse and phenominal people watching.
[*] DC also has all the "chain" steak houses as well. Ruth's Chris, Morton's etc. For plane buffs, the Ruth's Chris in Crystal City (just across the Potomac River in Arlington, VA) has a wonderful view of DCA's runways with the DC skyline in the background. The
kokonutz and the
Catman and I enjoyed a great mini-FlyerTalk dinner there not too long ago

.
[*] The Prime Rib is also a good choice for steaks - very clubby atmosphere.
DC abounds with things to do. For drinks, hit the rooftop bar at
The Washington Hotel. It overlooks the Clinton residence and the Mall. If you are lucky, you might see a federal agent carrying a dirty blue dress across the White House lawn

. It is also just a short cab ride to The Palm.
[*] The Adams Morgan neighborhood overflows with international cuisine and cafes. You name it, it's there in quantity and quality.
[*] The Holocost Museaum is a must see in DC. It is open late on Thursdays. Call Ticketmaster in DC at 202-432-7328 in advance to get tickets. The museum is free but you still need to get a ticket for a particular time/date of entry. Of course, the fine folks at Ticketmaster will charge you about $5 for the "service"

.
Shoot me an email when you get to town and perhaps we can have a beer or two. There are several FlyerTalkers in the DC area.
Cheers. -geo1004
