The plane then sits around for a while and leaves SFO at 1305 and arrives back into LIS at T+1 0815 in the morning.
I actually think this schedule is a lot better than the current schedule. With the current schedule you lose a whole day flying LIS->SFO and the SFO->LIS flight leaves too early for a full day of work in SF and arrives too late for a full day of work in LIS, especially given the long immigration lines that are typical of LIS these days, this schedule allows you a full day in LIS, then the flight to SFO to sleep (at 12.5 hrs westbound, there is ample time to sleep), and a full day in SF, and on the SF->LIS segment it arrives early enough for a full day of work in Lisbon.
