Thankfully United (via Skywest DBA United Express) is starting flights out of here on October 14th so in theory we'd be without service for at most a week. Currently there's only one daily RT to Denver scheduled but if that flight proves popular AA has left the door wide open for United to offer flights to ORD to pick up the slack. In a way not I'm not surprised but I'm not happy about this either. In the last year we've went from 3x daily to ORD, 1-2x daily to DFW with extra flights around Thanksgiving and Christmas/New Year's to losing service. Guess I'll be calling AA and asking for a refund for my trip I had planned for mid September since the only way I can get there from here is with 22 hour overnight layover in ORD which is not acecptable.
