Can anyone please explain what the process for upgrades is at this hotel from experience? I'm staying this weekend, booked a Classic Room and can see on the App I have now been pre-upgraded to a Classic Butler Floor, which seems to just be the same room on the Butler Floor. Does this hotel typically move your room around multiple times before check-in or is that probably it?
If that's all I should expect (i.e. a €30 upgrade to the same room on a different floor) as an Ambassador in a half empty hotel I will cancel my stay and book somewhere else instead.
Loved my stay here a couple of years ago, also stayed my 1st night at The KG next door what a suite they gave me. The main thing is what your status is, at the time I stayed I was a Plat with SPG (now Titanium) and was told I had to up to the Lounge to check-in. You get the royal treatment up there and mostly a very nice upgrade as I got My choice was an inner suite (courtyard view) or a non-suite with a Sq view, Since I had a picture postcard view at the KD I didnt need it any linger so I took the inner suite
Dont know if I would have gotten either room (both upgrades) had I checked in downstairs at the reg desk. Nor do I know if the Lounge is open now for checking in
