Yes and even before covid, I got upgraded a few times on the late flight CVG-IAD (on nights when I couldn't make the last SDF-DCA on AA). I'm not a UA fan at all, but so the occasional free upgrade does take some of the hit out of having to fly them when I have to. It's actually more useful than a partnership with AA would be -- Hyatt does that, but there's no benefit (other than a mile/point per $) from that relationship for someone who is already Exec Plat on AA and Globalist w/ Hyatt. So it makes sense in a way to keep Titanium (not hard when they give you 68 free "night credits" in a year...) in order to keep UA Silver.
