Beware: 2-cabin 763 sub'd in on SFO-JFK
As someone accustomed to checking Flight Status to see if a 767-300 has been replaced by a 767-200, I got thrown a true curve-ball today: As my fiancee went to check-in online for her Z-class business seat on the 8:55am SFO-JFK Flight (#956), properly listed as 767-300/ER, she was given seat... 4J - First. I called United to inquire and was told the plane was a 2-cabin 767! So, we forked over $100 to switch to the 8am and booked it to SFO.
I should have known something was up when the seat map refused to display the previous night. This one is obviously a tough one to spot; any ideas on ways to avoid?
