Hmm.
In the beginning...Over two years ago Air Canada determined that the time had come to replace RESIII, a reservations system that to this day we are proud to have innovated and which for many years was considered by many as leading edge. But it’s also important to remember that 25 years ago, the World Wide Web was in its infancy, the first airport kiosk had not yet been deployed and the “flip phone” was all the rage.In the 25 years since then, technology has evolved at a furious rate. To keep pace, we patched, and patched and patched some more and in the process bolted one application after another into RESIII until it began to bear more than a passing resemblance to Frankenstein. It was definitely time for something new and after a rigorous and careful selection process, we announced our partnership with Amadeus to launch Altéa, a full Passenger Service System that included reservations, inventory, ticketing and departure control solutions
