Just booked today ... what's interesting is that the 4-top table seats are limited to one person! In the past, I avoided these seats, even though the table top was better for writing/laptop use than the bouncy seatback tray tables -- because with long legs, it was hard not to play footsie with the person sitting across the table. And getting out from the window seat was awkward if someone was in the aisle seat and the table was opened up. This time, however, I am happy to have my very own 4-top table for both legs of WAS-NYP!
But, Amtrak ended up sending me 3 tickets. The first was the auto-assigned seating. The second was when I changed the outbound leg to a 4-top in the Quiet Car, within a minute of the confirmation. The third was when I changed the return leg to a 4-top in the Quiet car, again, within a minute of making the seat change on the outbound leg. Maybe Amtrak should allow people to select their seats before sending the confirmation?
