Just finished a 4 Night Stay here and here’s our thoughts -
We were upgraded to the Signature Suite as. Globalist on a Prive’ stay which was a nice perk. We made sure to thank the manager via email, the FDA at check in and the manager at checkout for the gracious upgrade.
Front Desk staff were nice, though it was a bit awkward. As a Globalist staying the resort fee is waived, however you are supposed to still receive the benefits thereof. ($10 F&B Credit Daily, 1 Shoe Shine, Daily Bike Rental, 1 Kayak Rental, Harbor Tour, Complimentary Daily Newspaper upon request). The FDA tried to say that because it was a Globalist stay and the resort fee was waived we would not receive any of those perks included as part of the resort fee. Not sure who would train the staff to say that?
Globalist Breakfast was at Market One, which if you don’t know has a pretty limited menu. But that’s pretty much everywhere these days so no big deal.
Was originally told $40 credit per guest room. After responding to the Manager’s email questioning the $40 total credit prior to arrival he responded the day of arrival saying he received clarification.
Here’s what he said,
”I received further clarification on breakfast – thanks for your patience. Your Globalist benefit will include up to 4 entrees, 4 sides, and 4 drinks for breakfast daily, up to 2 Adults and 2 Children. Simply sign the check to your room and we will make sure the charges are removed from you bill.”
At check in the FDA advised it would be a $40 credit per day for breakfast. But considering the Operations Manager received clarification either from his GM or Hyatt Corporate that it’s dependent on items, rather than $ amount we just ordered 1 Entree, 1 Side and 1 Drink Per Person. For our party of 3 after taxes and Service Charges that came to $60-$65 per day.
At checkout we had to speak to a manager because they said the credit only covered $40. After showing the manager the email and him going to his office to confirm he removed the total of Breakfast Charges. He did check the receipts as well to confirm it was all within what was supposed to be covered which it was.
Pool was pretty packed during our stay since only 1 of the 2 pools was open and no hot tubs were open.
Overall it was a good stay, this property is just very different without the Grand Club and all the dining/fashion/boutique outlets being open.
I believe we will come back after things begin to reopen, whenever that happens.
Also, while making conversation with an F&B manager he said it’s very likely Top of the Hyatt will be closed permanently even if things improve.
