Yes, I haven't asked for any FTVs to be transferred to EMD, but gradually that seems to be happening, one after the other, from March onwards. It doesn't make much difference to me, given that I have plenty of opportunities to use either FTVs or EMDs, but what I think is the more accurate answer is that more simple bookings from August onwards will generally end up as EMDs sooner rather than later, but older FTVs are also turning into EMDs, again if the booking was reasonably easy, without GUFs, part pay with Avios, POUGs and what not. So I think the version given to snaxmuppet is only part of the story - as is often the case with BA. But even if it stays as an FTV then at least the daughter can use it while she is young and I'm sure her father will take a benevolent view of this (eventually).
