its tragic for the kid but I blame the parents. If you knew your kid couldnt comply with the policy, then why even put yourself in the situation
I don't think blame is in order here. The article cited doesn't say anyone else was inconvenienced or that the flight was delayed. They tried to avoid a 7 hours drive (14 hours for someone, since they needed to get a ride). It didn't work out. This is a nation where pastors, gym owners, restauranteurs, and Presidents proudly and publicly ignore public health officials and restrictions. Why wouldn't they take a chance on finding a scofflaw FA that would let them slide to avoid a long drive?
