I got a puzzling question!
I have the VA credit card, so i just been given the 'companion or free upgrade voucher' based on my spend. Currently got 40k miles...

I was told to call 'Virgin Holidays' with regards to booking a reward flight to Cuba. I call them, give my flying club details, lady says i can use my airmiles to fly to Cuba (20k return, or 27500k when doing prem on the return leg).
However...............
She says although i have a companion ticket / buy 1 get 1 free reward seats , she said it cannot be used on the flight to Cuba.
She said its probably to do with a trade embargo ????

What i dont get is, if i can use airmiles anyway to do a return flight from UK to Cuba, why cant they they honour the companion reward ??
Any ideas ?
