I continue to be amazed that an airline that is scrambling for revenue makes it so darn difficult for us to spend MORE money. I tried buying "B" fares to Europe and no matter what upgrade type I selected, I was given "V" fares. I finally said screw it and bought a deep discount biz ticket on LX for not much more that I guess a B fare would have cost. Better schedule, also.

FWIW, the only times I have gotten B fares were through an agent or the Amex website.

What a shame.
