If you want to credit to AM, you don't even need to make an account with Delta. When you get to the checkout page, part of the passenger details section includes the Frequent Flyer Program and membership number. Just select AeroMexico and enter your Club Premier number. You could also book directly on AM's website if that's easier to avoid booking codeshares.

I need to make a SkyMiles account to see what kind of mileage accrual I'd get with SkyMiles. I want to compare with AM's program.
For some reason, I can't get AM's booking site to give connections via LAX, they only use SLC which is a longer travel time. Even if I force a multi-segment itinerary specifying LAX, it comes up empty. Go figure. Luckily delta.com offers the quicker LAX connection for the same fare.
