Lucrative indeed. I feel like I got a bit lucky. As I was trying to navigate the
ME public offer, I ended up calling in and speaking to a rep to confirm a few things. It was then that I learned of even larger bonuses available for those moving 300K+, if you are willing to keep your overall funds parked for at least 9 months. I realize that for many these are not relevant, but for those that have the funds, these are well worth pursuing. Here was the schedule I was given:
Higher cash bonus with (9 Months) holding period:
$300,000 to $499,999 $1,000
$500,000 to $999,999 $1,500
$1,000,000 + $2,500
$2,000,000 + $3,500
$5,000,000 + $5,000
$10,000,000 + $7,500
Edit: I should note that these were only communicated via email and I am not aware of any public link.
I was also targeted for the $300 checking bonus and the usual 50,000 point offer (=$500) for the Premium Rewards Visa. I missed out on the $200 for the Cash Rewards voluntarily as I did a product change on my AS Visa which is my oldest open cc account and wanted something no annual fee with that. All the cash bonuses above combined with the ongoing credit card reward bonuses at the Platinum Honors level makes BoA quite a lucrative option. You just need to jump through a number of hoops to get it all up and running.
One main downside however is that they have horrible options for cash savings (as do most places these days) so I have opted to have that outside the BoA bubble.
EDIT: Also note that the Preferred Rewards Credit Card bonuses (eg. 75% for Platinum Honors) are *not* applicable to the sign up bonus.
