Does anyone know if there is a specific reason why on some flights in Y they serve you the entire can of soda whereas others they just pour you that pitiful little cup? I flew ORD-BOS last week and the FA was just pouring the little cups. It's over a 2-hour flight, I have to believe that most people can finish an entire can in 2-hours!
You can always ask for the can, I've never seen this request denied, unless you're in the back of the plane and therefore the airline usually runs out.
