I guess they can't see the effects for the reduced services because the world is not really open for flying yet. Once it's back to normal, I think TK will have to re-evaluate their strategy.
I fully agree - it does not make sense and I absolutely hope TK will soon change their approach. Or maybe we on FlyerTalk are just a minority crazy about the catering - and everybody else likes TK's "health" approach?!
I am fine if airlines adjust their catering to make it more secure/hygienic. But TK has gone from 100% to 0%. I am sure there are different ways of adjusting the catering in a sensible way. For example, if the welcome drink on a tray is deemed unsafe, then don't just kill it, but offer a prepackaged version, glasses covered with a lid, etc.
There are so many other options available than just removing it entirely.
That is of course if TK would be serious about making it more hygienic - and not just cost cutting.
