while i have not done this myself I have seen it done on board.

After boarding you can ask the cabin crew to ask the person in the seat next to your companion if they would like to move forward to ce and you take their et seat.

if they are travelling on their own they are likely to say yes, especially if they have someone in the middle seat beside them or are in the middle seat.
