That didn't take long; the Taco Bell cashier working the drive through today inserted my card for me. Not sure if it was just that one cashier or if the location/company is going back to not handing the terminal out unless you ask to use Apple Pay or similar.
Maybe it grabbed address info from a loyalty program of some sort?
Maybe you should tell the cashier you want to run the card yourself as they are not supposed to be touching your card. That is for their protection to stop contamination whether they realize it or not, you are trying to help them out.
