I had some vouchers from work and supplemented them with some cash to purchase a TATL pre Covid for travel in a couple of weeks time through a travel agent. The rotation I’d booked is still scheduled so I requested a FTV.

I now want to book some alternative flights to ACE using part of the FTV and the travel agent is quoting £200 more than the price on ba.com and the fare on ITA Matrix.

I’ve sent the fare construction from Matrix to the travel agent but they won’t budge and keep telling me that they have to buy the fare through their consolidator. They won’t supply any fare details, not even fare bucket, for the quote which they have provided.

Does it sound like they’re ripping me off here or should I expect to be paying 40% more as I can’t book direct in this case?
