Be advised the companion certificate requires the primary purchaser to be booked in V or higher (no Q or T). The $99 companion ticket is booked in Q class - thus inventory must have Q availability. Plus the companion does not earn any miles and does not get EUA capability if the companion is elite. Requires 14 day advance purchase and Sat. night stay. ie Not that great of a deal.

Not clear if the newer cheap codes work - like W or X or S or L. Only Q or T are excluded (but I am guessing that was set up when the codes went YHKBVQT only). But legally - W/X/S/L should work???

Also, don't trust Chase. My WorldCard - took 8 months to get companion cert. Now after 1 year still no PC cert. or discount coupon. Takes the payment of the fee the second year for PC cert to kick in. Then likely a few months after the fee is payed the second time.
