Hotel lounges seem to be a big deal for guests in Asia, although the lounge atmosphere and demographics can differ very much from place to place. For example, the Westin Chosun in downtown Seoul has roughly half of its floors designated as Executive Club; on many weekends, the large lounge (which is strict about children) does two sittings. The JW is even stricter about children and its small lounge reminds me of the PG, but is not as elegant. By contrast, the Grand Hyatt ICN lounge (also large) seems to have at least one toddler at every table IME. One gets the impression in all of these hotels that elites are a smaller fraction of guests than at comparable USA properties, so most people are apparently happy to pay for lounge access.
