The RC seems to be doing fine. I suspect the EDITION will also do well. Neither have much in the way of benefits for elite members. I think people on this forum have a skewed perspective on how free breakfast and lounge access factors into decision making for most travelers staying at luxury properties. I'm probably going to start staying at the EDITION for at least half of the stays where I would have stayed at the Prince Gallery. I don't get free breakfast, so I will just buy the breakfast.

Presumably because they want to attract foreign travelers as well and it puts them in a position beyond being a nondescript hotel in Tokyo. For example, I am completely confident that the Prince Sakura Tower Tokyo (Autograph Collection) sees more foreign guests than the Grand Prince Hotel Takanawa which is beside it and is not a Marriott property.
